About All Star NZ
When It All Began...
All Star Cheerleaders was founded by Kimberley Ramsay in 1999. Leaving a successful legal practice, Kimberley saw an opportunity at the North Harbour Stadium to provide the Harbour NPC Rugby team with a cheerleading squad. She spoke to the management at Harbour Rugby and sold them on a real American style cheer team that incorporated stunts, pyramids, tumbling, cheers and chants... and All Star Cheerleaders was born!
A Young Girl's Dream
However, the dream to have a cheerleading team started many years before that. At age 10 she was given 2 sets of pom poms by her mother (who had bought them on an overseas trip) and from that day dreamed of becoming a cheerleader with a team of her very own.
Our Very First Junior Team!
In 2000 All Star Cheerleaders started its first junior cheerleading team with 11 students at Whenuapai School - that year they performed at their school gala and the Farmers Queen Street Santa Parade.
All Star Grows!
All Star Cheerleaders has since grown to be the biggest cheerleading school in the Southern Hemisphere. We have branches in North, West, East and Central Auckland, as well as Hamilton, Wellington, Tauranga and Christchurch. All Star has also developed a brand new Elite Training Programme. These teams train and compete overseas annually, including representing New Zealand at the USASF/IASF Cheerleading Worlds. All Star is also home to our national representative cheerleading team, Team New Zealand. Team New Zealand travels every year to compete at the ICU World Cheerleading Championships.
The All Star Franchise - Your New Family!
All Star Cheerleaders has now announced their brand new franchise opportunity! With cheerleading being one of the fastest growing team sports in America, England and Russia, this is a great business opportunity to get involved in! Not only is it a fun and exciting business opportunity, it is a great way to get in touch with the youth of today and make a difference!
13 years on... and still counting!
All Star Cheerleaders celebrated their 13th Anniversary in 2016. Not only have we continued our legacy in being the largest cheerleading school in New Zealand, we have also conquered many international competitions. All Star has guided cheerleading to be recognised as a competitive sport, proving that cheerleaders are just as hard working as other athletes. But it is not just about medals and championship titiles...
All Star Cheerleaders provides the opportunity to learn not only new skills and a new sport, but lessons such as hard work, determination, team work, confidence and self-belief. Cheerleading makes you a stronger individual, both mentally and physically, and the friends, team mates and memories you will make at All Star Cheerleaders are priceless.
We are told almost everyday about the difference cheerleading and All Star Cheerleaders has made to someone's life, and we, the All Star staff, would be honoured to help your child feel confident and encouraged to reach their full potential in this growing sport!
