International Cheer Union
The International Cheer Union currently encompasses 97 member National Federations and continues to grow as a unified voice for all those who are dedicated to the positive advancement of cheerleading throughout the world.
The ICU is a non-profit international governing entity, and it has been properly and legally registered as such. Please click here to view the ICU's certificate of registration as a non-profit organisation. Its mission and purpose are strictly to advance the sport. No corporations or individuals will benefit financially from it.
Each year the ICU hosts the World Cheerleading Championships where its member countries compete for prestigious world championship titles. Since the very first ICU World Cheerleading Championships were held in 2009, the number of countries participating in the event has risen dramatically and the standard of competition continues to rise every year.
The New Zealand Cheerleading Association representing New Zealand has been a member of the International Cheer Union since its inception. Team New Zealand is administered and supported by the NZCA which is chaired by owner and founder of All Star Cheerleaders, Kimberley Ramsay.
